Edited by Mark Fisher
“The most comprehensive and incisive book about XTC yet published” Dom Lawson, Prog Magazine.
A 256-page edition of the classic 1980s fanzine Limelight, featuring the original copies published between 1982 and 1992 plus new material for 2017, including interviews with Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Dave Gregory and Terry Chambers.
Limelight was a fanzine created for and by the fans of Swindon’s finest. In those far-off pre-internet days, it was one of the few ways people could keep up to date with what XTC were up to.
Like its Canadian sister fanzine, The Little Express, Limelight featured news, interviews and articles about all things XTC. Every edition sold out and original copies have become collectors’ items.
It was great. And now it’s back – with even more essential reading than ever.
As well as reproductions of all the original issues of the XTC fanzine Limelight, The XTC Bumper Book of Fun for Boys and Girls is packed with new articles and interviews.
2017 highlights include:
- Andy Partridge on childhood, children and creativity
- Colin Moulding and Terry Chambers on the art of the rhythm section
- Dave Gregory on Drums and Wires, Black Sea and English Settlement
- XTC on some surprising musical influences
- Comedians Phill Jupitus, Kevin Eldon, Stewart Lee, Joanna Neary and Paul Putner on their favourite XTC songs
- Clive Jackson of Doctor and the Medics on being produced by Andy Partridge
- Belinda Blanchard on starring in the video for Dear God
- Peter Mills on the link between Thomas Hardy and XTC
- Mark Fisher on XTC puns and wordplay
